Fire crews rushed to a smoking manhole in Bromley.
Two fire engines and around 10 firefighters were called to London Road at 12pm today (Friday, September 27) to tackle the incident.
They worked to make the scene safe and the incident was over shortly before 2pm.
According to AA Maps, the road was blocked as the smoking manhole was dealt with and bus routes 208 and 320 to be diverted.
A spokesperson for London Fire Brigade said: “Firefighters were mobilised to smoke issuing from a manhole cover on London Road in Bromley.
“Firefighters worked to assist emergency service partners and make the scene safe.
“The Brigade was called at 1200 and the incident was over for firefighters by 1349.
“Two fire engines and around 10 firefighters from Lee Green and Lewisham fire stations attended the scene.”
