A south London cleaning service is set to launch a new Mobile Food Bank initiative in Croydon.
Tarem Services, based in Lewisham, has announced the launch of its new Mobile Food Bank aimed at supporting individuals and families experiencing in-work poverty and food insecurity.
The initiative is launching at Selhurst Children’s Centre in Croydon on Tuesday (October 1) and is part of Tarem Services' ongoing mission to uplift vulnerable communities and provide essential resources to those in need.
People who have jobs but still have a hard time affording basic needs is a big problem in the UK.
This Mobile Food Bank aims to give families food they need, so they can focus on their health without worrying about not having enough food.
Jenny Gabriel, Manager of Selhurst Children’s Centre, said: "The Federation of Crosfield and Selhurst Nursery Schools and Children’s Centres are really looking forward to working with Tarem Services to support our local community and start to tackle food poverty.
“This initiative will give families who might ordinarily hesitate to ask for help the opportunity to access much-needed support without fear of judgement."
Tarem Services is a social enterprise focused on tackling in-work poverty and food insecurity, especially among cleaners in the UK.
Founded in 1999 with help from a Prince’s Trust grant, Tarem Services continues to strive for responsible business practices.
The company provides cleaning, construction labour, pest control, and waste management services, while staying committed to social responsibility and environmental sustainability.
