Two further arrests have been made following the fatal stabbing of a 15-year-old in Woolwich.

An 18-year-old man was arrested last night (Wednesday, September 25) on suspicion of murder.

He is currently in police custody as the investigation continues.

A 15-year-old boy was also arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice.

He has been released on bail while enquiries are ongoing.

The stabbing occurred in Eglinton Road on Sunday evening (September 22) at around 6.35pm.

Police found 15-year-old Daejaun Campbell at the scene suffering from stab injuries.

He was treated by paramedics at the scene, but died a short time after.

A post mortem revealed that the cause of death was due to a sharp force trauma to the left thigh.

In addition to these latest arrests, Jacob Losiewicz, 18, of Church Manor Way, Abbey Wood, was charged with murder yesterday (September 25) and appeared Bromley Magistrates’ Court today (September 26).

Police are still appealing for witnesses and further information.

Detective Chief Inspector Kate Blackburn who is leading the investigation said: “We are diligently progressing with this investigation thanks to officers and detectives who have been working tirelessly throughout the week.

“Daejaun was only 15 when he lost his life. His family are understandably devastated.

"Although officers have made a number of arrests and have charged a suspect we need to gather as much information as possible to fully understand what happened on Sunday evening.

“If you know anything, no matter how insignificant you think this information is – please tell us.

"Even the slightest bit of information can help us build a picture of what happened to young Daejaun. You can contact Crimestoppers anonymously if you are afraid of speaking to us.

“You can also submit footage or information anonymously via our website portal - Public Portal (mipp.police.uk)

“If you want to speak to an officer you can contact the investigation team on 0208 721 4005 quoting Operation Baghaze.”

Tributes have since been paid to the teen with flowers, candles and blue balloons on the street where he died, with messages reading "miss you", as reported by the Mirror.

One card attached to a bouquet of flowers at the scene reads: "Daejaun, forever in our hearts."

Another read: "I love you forever, I am so proud of you, live it up."

Friends also said that Daejaun was a "good guy" who "never had an issue with anyone".

They added that he was a "very, very smart and well behaved" pupil and often played basketball, football and rugby at school.
