The best 100 pubs in the UK have been named and 11 of London's own have made the list.

Created by the Mail Online and Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA), the list aims to highlight some of the best Great British pubs in the villages, towns and cities around the UK.

The media outlet compiled the list by asking many of the biggest names in the British food and drink industry for their opinion, including the likes of  Tom Parker-Bowles, Raymond Blanc, Michel Roux Jr and Dame Prue Leith.

Plus, the Mail Online also looked at hundreds of reviews and food and drink awards and consulted pub experts like Ed Bedington to help create the list of the UK's best 100 pubs.

11 London pubs named among the UK's best

The London pubs that made it on the list were:

  • The Queen's Arms, Kensington
  • The Audley Public House, Mayfair
  • The Wigmore, West End 
  • The Mayflower, Rotherhithe
  • The Cow, Notting Hill
  • The White Swan, Richmond
  • The Canton Arms, Stockwell
  • The Anglesea Arms, Hammersmith
  • The Butcher’s Tap & Grill, Chelsea 
  •  The Camberwell Arms, Camberwell
  • The Hero, Maida Vale

The Queen's Arm is described by the Mail Online as an "elegant pub" that's "tucked away in a regal, cobbled mews in Kensington - with the Royal Albert Hall just a few minutes’ walk away".

The pub, chosen by Italian chef Aldo Zilli serves a Sussex Best pint and is a dog-friendly local.

Discussing the pub, Chef Zilli said: "I went last year with Matt Goss when he was playing the Royal Albert Hall and had the roast.

"There’s a decent fish and chips on the menu too, and always a great atmosphere, particularly when there’s a gig next door."

Also on the list is The Wigmore in the West End which is set in a "former banking hall with bold green-painted panelling and red leather seats is attached to high-end West End hotel The Langham."

On Tripadvisor, the pub has a rating of 4.5/5 with one guest sharing: "Love The Wigmore. Fab toasties, excellent chips, lovely rose and great Guinness (apparently!!). Fabulous staff, all great."

The Mayfair along the Thames in Rotherhithe is better known as the oldest pub in London.

The pub has "stained glass, candles and roaring fires, with a jetty outside for river views" says the Mail.

Menu items include satay chicken, pulled pork bao, 28 Day Aged Rib-Eye Steak, Pan-Fried Salmon and Sticky Toffee Pudding.
