A house in Woolwich has been cordoned off following a fatal stabbing of a teenage boy.

The house on Eglinton Road has been closed off with a police officer stationed outside, as investigations continue into the tragic incident.

According to the Metropolitan Police, officers were called to the scene at around 6.35pm on Sunday, September 22.

When they arrived they found a teenage boy, believed to be 15, suffering from a stab wound.

The boy died at the scene shortly afterward. His family has been informed.

Local residents have expressed their shock and sadness at the loss of the young boy.

One woman, aged 43, who did not wish to be named, described the victim as “the most polite boy”.

She recalled seeing him and his friends dancing in the street to a TikTok song just days before the incident.

While she did not know him well, she always exchanged greetings with him and noted how respectful he was.

Another resident, who also chose to remain anonymous, recounted the horrifying moment when her children witnessed the attack.

"My kids started screaming; they saw men with knives," she said.

Along with another woman, she attempted to help the injured boy but was unable to save him.

Describing the chaotic scene, she mentioned seeing a weapon the size of her son's leg.

She also expressed frustration, saying the community had previously asked the local council for CCTV, but their requests had been ignored.

She now fears for the safety of the neighbourhood’s children, worrying that incidents like this will continue.

A crime scene remains in place as officers continue their investigation.

No arrests have been made so far, and police are urging anyone with information to come forward by calling 101 and quoting reference CAD 5989/22Sep.
