Parents and shoppers at the Tesco store in Beckenham have can win a share £500,000 for their community on Saturday.
From 12pm to 1pm on September 17, as part of Tesco's Stronger Starts campaign, shoppers on Croydon Road can participate in a lucky dip, where they might find a special gold token.
If they do, they’ll be able to choose which of the three local schools or children’s groups will receive a £5,000 grant.
This money can be spent on healthy food or equipment to support children’s wellbeing.
The Golden Grants are given twice a year through Tesco's £8 million Stronger Starts program.
It aims to help young people by providing nutritious food and healthy activities. Schools and groups can also apply for grants to run breakfast clubs or purchase sports equipment.
Since 2016, Tesco’s Community Grants program has given over £100 million to more than 50,000 schools and groups.
Schools and children's organizations in Beckenham can apply for grants through the Groundwork website.
Claire De Silva, Tesco Head of Communities said: “Schools and local projects are vital in supporting our children and our communities.
“We’re giving customers the chance to make a difference to a school or group that’s doing amazing work on their doorstep.”
