Amazonico is one of London’s best Latin American restaurant and bars and it has recently unveiled a new weekend lunch menu.

I got a special chance to try it in its launch weekend, and can confirm it’s not one to miss.

Available on Saturdays and Sunday from 12pm to 4pm – the Amazónico Asado menu combines a blend of tropical and Latin American flavours.

Group Executive Chef Vitelio Reyes and his team curated the bespoke menu which is priced at £65 per person and served in a family feasting style.

It starts with Pão de Queijo, Brazilian cassava bread, and Amazónico’s signature Guacamole with red chilli and crispy plantain.

A selection of Amazónico’s most signature dishes internationally follow, including the Ensalada Amazónica, with mango, avocado, confit tomato, kalamansi citrus, and Aguachile, a Mexican style stone bass ceviche, avocado cream and jalapeño.

There is an additional maki portion on offer from the Nikkei-inspired Sushi Counter, which will change weekly in flavour, emphasising the unique Asian communities which inhabit the Amazon regions.

I had a stonebass one which was oozing with flavour – and the contrast in textures and tastes made it even better.

The next course is the whopper – the Instagram-story stopper and the one that stops you in your tracks.

A feast of Parilla Mixta, or shared grilled meats, are on offer – including Brazilian style grilled rump steak, coriander marinated baby chicken and crispy pork belly.

They come with side dishes of broccoli, a mixed salad and grilled sweetcorn.

We couldn't believe how much food came and how incredible it looked when it did.

The mains arrived at the table and it felt like a meal fit for royalty – it was a meal that could fill you up for the day and a meal that you’d crave for a while after eating it.

Amazonico is such a lovely place to sit in and it was the perfect setting to have a leisurely lunch with such decadent and fresh food with friends.

The waiters were extremely attentive and helpful too - explaining each dish and what it is best paired with.

In case the meat platter wasn’t enough, the dessert was an even more mega moment – including Brigadeiros, Brazilian chocolate truffles, the signature Amazonico Pina Rostizada which is a roasted caramel glazed pineapple, and the new Jari – a white pepper ganache with orange gel and chamomile ice cream.

If that’s not enough to get your taste buds tingling then I don’t know what is – but if you fancy a feast then Amazonico at the weekend is your place, with its jungle, upmarket vibes in London’s Mayfair.
