Crane operations will see road closures on two busy streets in Bromley later this month.
Bromley Council has announced plans for traffic restrictions to facilitate crane operation works.
The works, carried out by Nationwide Traffic Solutions, will affect Elmfield Park and Elmfield Road.
The restrictions come into effect on Saturday, September 28, and will remain until the crane operations are complete.
The council has not provided a specific end date for the works, stating only that the order has a maximum duration of 18 months.
The restrictions will be in place as indicated by traffic signs.
Vehicles will not be allowed to wait in the streets mentioned in the notice, and any vehicle found in contravention of this order may be removed under the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.
Traffic will be prohibited from proceeding in these streets, and one-way working will be enforced, meaning vehicles must follow the direction indicated by traffic signs.
However, these prohibitions will not apply to cul-de-sacs.
Displaced traffic will be diverted via local streets as appropriate.
Despite the restrictions, access to properties will be always maintained, as will emergency access and egress routes.
The order does not apply to vehicles being used in connection with the works.
The council has also stated that the order will not apply to anything done with the permission or direction of a police officer in uniform or a traffic warden.
The crane operation works are part of a series of improvements and maintenance being carried out in the area.
The council has assured residents that the works will be completed as quickly as possible to minimise disruption.
Residents are advised to plan their journeys accordingly and allow extra time for travel.
The council will provide updates on the progress of the works as necessary.
The council has also reminded residents to follow all traffic signs and instructions from traffic wardens to ensure the safety of all road users.
