Drivers in Dartford should prepare for significant disruptions over the next few weeks, as 

National Highways has announced 20 road closures in the area.

These closures are part of ongoing maintenance on motorways and major A-roads, which 

National Highways is responsible for.

Three of these closures are expected to cause moderate delays for motorists, with potential wait times ranging from 10 minutes to 30 minutes.

While National Highways oversees these larger roads, the schedule does not account for any closures on smaller, local roads.

Drivers are advised to plan their journeys ahead to avoid delays during this period.

Here is the list of closures:

• A282, from 10pm September 2 to 5.30am October 1, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A282 northbound, Dartford Crossing West Tunnel, Tunnel closure for maintenance works, diversion via National Highways network.

• A2, from 10pm August 19 to 5am November 1, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A2 westbound, Old Bexley Lane, 24 Hour 40mph speed limit for VRS works.

• A2, from 8pm September 9 to 6am September 10, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A2 westbound, Bean to Darenth, hard shoulder and lane closure for construction works.

• A2, from 10pm September 9 to 6am September 14, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M25 Anticlockwise, junction 2, Lane, link road, slip road, and carriageway closures for resurfacing works, diversions via National Highways and local authority network.

• A282, from 10pm September 9 to 5am September 10, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M25 clockwise, junction 31 to A282 clockwise, junction 1A, Lane closures for barrier repair.

• A2, from 8pm September 10 to 6am September 11, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A2 westbound, Bean, entry slip closure for drainage works.

• A2, from 10pm September 12 to 5am September 14, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A2 eastbound, junction Rochester Way to junction Dartford and A2 westbound, junction Dartford Bypass to junction Rochester Way, Lane closures for barrier repairs off network.

• A282, from 9.30pm September 14 to 5am September 15, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A282 northbound, Dartford Crossing, Tunnel closure for contraflow works, diversion via Highways England Network.

• A282, from 10pm September 14 to 5am September 15, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A282 northbound and southbound, Dartford Crossing, QEII Bridge closure for maintenance, diversion via East Tunnel (contraflow).

• A2, from 8pm September 15 to 6am September 16, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A2 both directions Bean to Tollgate, Lane closure for maintenance works.

• A282, from 10pm September 15 to 5am September 16, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A282 northbound, Dartford Crossing East Tunnel, Tunnel closure for maintenance works, diversion via National Highways network.

• A2, from 10.30pm September 15 to 5am September 20, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A2 westbound, Dartford Heath, Lane, carriageway, and slip road closure for VRS works, diversion via National Highways and local authority network.
