The following cases were heard at Bromley and Bexley Magistrates’ Courts on Friday, September 6, 2024:
JOSHUA NIYONGIRA, 25, of St Norbert Road in Nunhead, admitted possessing a large black machete style knife in Woolwich on August 9. Niyongira was jailed for 21 weeks as the court heard it was his second knife offence.
SCOTT FRANCIS, 40, of Whimbrel Close in Thamesmead, admitted £8,908 worth of criminal damage to an Audi in Thamesmead on January 22. Francis was given a one-year community order with 40 hours of unpaid work. He was also told to pay £400 compensation.
RICHARD HILL, 60, of New Cross Road, admitted exposing his genitals in Lewisham on May 12 intending someone would see them and be alarmed or distressed. He also pleaded guilty to racially aggravated harassment/alarm/distress. Hill was ordered to pay £750 compensation.
PHILBERT ISAACS, 59, of Plumstead Common Road, admitted racially aggravated harassment/alarm/distress, stealing olive oil from the Co-op and assault in Deptford on August 25. Isaacs was jailed for 21 days.
SIDIQUE GOVINDEN, 31, of no fixed abode in Sidcup, admitted possessing a lock knife and racially aggravated harassment/alarm/distress in M&S on August 4. Govinden was jailed for six months.
