M&S Food in Blackheath has reopened its doors after eight weeks of extensive refurbishment.
Store manager, Benjamin Best, alongside team manager Heather Vivash who is marking her 39th year at M&S, hosted the relaunch on Thursday (September 5).
The mascot Percy Pig was also present to join in the festivities.
The thoroughly revamped premises now offer an expansive 10,000 sq ft of retail space.
Shelves are stocked with a wide selection of delectable baked goods from an in-store London.
During the renovation period, the store's dedicated staff volunteered at the Greenwich Foodbank, preparing over 1,700 kilos of food parcels.
Highlight of the bakery is the retailer’s signature Collection Sourdough, a product of meticulous craftsmanship that takes a staggering 30 hours to make.
Customers will be able to purchase a wider assortment of fresh fruits and vegetables supplied by M&S’ Select Farm Partners.
An expanded frozen section with more product choices and additional tills for expedited service are among the upgrades.
In step with digital trend, a Click & Collect point for online orders has been incorporated.
M&S Blackheath now also has dedicated flower and wine shops, presenting the best of M&S’ products.
The Blackheath store holds the distinction of being one of 25 M&S stores across the UK scheduled for renovation in this business year under a £30m investment plan.
Benjamin Best, Store Manager at M&S Blackheath who leads the 68-strong store team, said: “It’s amazing to reopen the doors to both our regular and new customers.
"I cannot wait to see the response to the refreshed store, it looks completely different, and I am certain customers are going to love shopping here.
“We have a range of brand-new products in-store including our limited edition Triple Hot and Spicy Beef pizzas, part of our Pizza Dine In Deal offering 2 pizzas and 2 sides for £12.
“We have upgraded the whole range so with a 24-hour fermented dough, new Italian sauce and more toppings, I know they will be a customer favourite!
“I want to say a huge thank you to my team for all their hard work over the past eight weeks and it was fantastic to have a chance to help the local community, which we’re so proud to be part of.
“As a team, we can’t wait to be back serving our customers in Blackheath!”
