Ten fire engines and around 70 firefighters battled a fire at a block of flats on Rosenthal Road in Catford earlier this afternoon.
The fire engulfed two flats on the 9th and 10th floors of the building.
A video sent in by a witness who was at the scene shows people waving at the building telling them to "get out".
Rushey Green remains closed between Rosenthal Road and Honley Road.
There are currently no reports of any injuries.
More footage from earlier this afternoon shows a section of the building up in flames.
