These closures are part of a planned maintenance effort to boost road safety and infrastructure. 

Drivers are forewarned that diversions and delays might accompany these crucial works.

National Highways, responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, does not oversee smaller road shutdowns. 

The A2 serves as a crucial link connecting Dover to the heart of London, spanning nearly 72 miles from Borough in the capital and finishing at the Dover Docks.

Tuesday 3 September

  • A2 Westbound Old Bexley Lane to Bourne Interchange Carriageway Closure: 10:00pm to 5:00am
    Details: Continued lane, slip road, and carriageway closures for VRS works. Diversion in place.

Wednesday 4 September

  • A2 Eastbound Canterbury Road Exit Slip Road Closure: 8:15pm to 5:00am
    Details: Slip road and lane closures between A299 and Boughton Under Blean for maintenance works.
  • A2 Westbound Old Bexley Lane to Bourne Interchange Carriageway Closure: 10:00pm to 5:00am
    Details: Ongoing VRS works with diversions.

Thursday 5 September
