A Greenwich pub has reopened its doors after undergoing a huge renovation and being taken over by Greene King.
The Fox Under the Hill, based in Shooter Hill, welcomed customers back on Saturday, August 31.
Formerly known as the Hungry Horse, the pub closed in July for an “extensive makeover” which pub leaders claim costed six-figures in total to offer a “fresh and inviting atmosphere for the community”.
The transformation has “revitalised” the pub to “enhance its aesthetic appeal and capacity” adding an extra 40 covers.
Inside, the pub is now “beautiful and cosy” with eleven TV screens showcasing Sky Sports matches.
It as sectioned seating areas for sports fans so that several events can be aired at the same time such as the Grand National, boxing, tennis, football and more.
There is also a dedicated space for private functions, holding 30-40 people where the pub’s conservatory used to be.
Outside, the Fox Under the Hill has an outdoor area that has been “upgraded” with “cosy lighting, seating and heating”.
Entertainment is a new focus at the pub with karaoke nights taking place every other Friday, alternating with live music every other Saturday.
The new menu offers a range of pub classis such as Steak and Ale Pie as well as sharing plates for families and big groups.
The drinks menu has also undergone a revamp, now offering “fan favourites” like Greene King IPA, Neck Oil, Old Speckled Hen and more.
In addition to these changes, the pub is looking to encourage the formation of a local darts team.
With the newly renovated space, leaders describe the space as “the perfect opportunity for darts enthusiasts to come together and enjoy some friendly competition”.
The pub is also proudly dog-friendly, making it an ideal spot for furry friends.
Sebastijan Polanec, General Manager of The Fox Under the Hill said: “Our team at the Fox Under the Hill, are so thrilled to reopen our doors once again to welcome back our guests.
“The revamp has brought a whole new lease of life to the pub, and we’re confident that customers will love our improved facilities, and food and drinks menu for an even better drinking and dining experience than ever before.
“We’ve always been known for our top tier service, delicious food and cosy pub environment and we want to reassure our customers that this has not changed, the pub has simply received the TLC that it deserves, and it will elevate the experience of customers.”
