A major police presence in Erith is connected to an ongoing triple stabbing investigation in Dartford.
Three people were taken to hospital after being stabbed in Spital Street just before 8.20pm on August 31.
Their conditions were assessed as non-life threatening.
The News Shopper were made aware of a police presence in Wharfside Close at around 5.30pm on September 1.
One eyewitness, who wishes to be kept anonymous, said: “Seven police vehicles and forensics are in Wharfside Close, Erith.
“Incident happened last night around midnight when armed police blocked anyone leaving the road.”
Although Spital Street is a 20 minute distance away from Wharfside Close, a spokesperson for Kent Police confirmed today (September 2) that the police presence in Erith is linked to the Dartford stabbing.
Spital Street remains closed as an investigation is carried out in the area.
The full Kent Police statement says: “ Kent Police was called following a report of an altercation on Spital Street, Dartford at 8.19pm on Saturday 31 August 2024.
“Emergency services attended and three people were taken to hospital with injuries consistent with stab wounds, which are not believed to be life-threatening.
“An investigation to determine the full circumstances is ongoing and officers remain in area, with Spital Street currently closed to assist enquiries.”
