A HIGH street turned a shade of purple when a charity set about raising awareness of older people in the community.
Christian charity Mission Care organised the fun day in High Street, Bromley, on Saturday (September 27) and treated visitors to puppet shows, musical entertainment and face painting.
A one-mile sponsored run through the town attracted 35 runners.
Finance director Jonathan Crisp said: "We welcomed the opportunity to host this event in Bromley and the opportunity it gives us to raise our profile, share information about our work as well as providing some fun activities for families to enjoy."
The charity first ran the event in 2004 and this year's activities helped raise £1,000 in donations and sponsorship.
Mission Care provides residential and nursing care for older people in the boroughs of Bromley, Lewisham and Southwark, as well as working with partners in Kenya, Nigeria and Uganda.
