Tributes have been paid to a well-loved pet shop manager who died in a motorbike crash.
Sam Frost died after an accident on the A25 near Godstone on July 1 at the age of 34.
He was manager and partner at Jack Frost Pet and Country Store in Keston, having worked in the family business alongside his sister Katie since he was 16.
Katie, 33, told the News Shopper: “Sam was super friendly, welcoming, happy to help and very funny. He was such a kind, genuine person and he always had time for everyone.”
A Facebook post announcing his death to customers received 720 comments from customers and friends sharing their memories of Sam.
Comments included: "he was always so warm and welcoming”, “Sam was undoubtedly one of the most wonderful, kind people I’ve ever met” and “Sam was an amazing young man, a real advocate for good animal care and kindness”.
Katie said: “A lot of customers have said it feels weird and they still walk in expecting him to be there. There’s a massive hole here now.”
The business was founded by their dad who later passed the reins to Katie and Sam, who managed the store together.
“We built the shop together since we were teenagers. We worked together every day and we were super close. We could finish each other's sentences and knew what each other were thinking,” Katie said.
The fatal collision took place at around 9.25pm and no other vehicles were involved.
Katie said: “Sam had a massive heart, and we think that in the end that was his downfall. It seems likely that he suffered a heart complication which led to his bike crash.
“It’s still a shock that he’s gone. It doesn’t sound real when I talk about it.”
Katie described her brother as an outdoorsy person with a big group of friends who loved to spend time with his German Shepherd and his nephew Oliver.
Instead of sending flowers, Sam’s family have asked people to donate to a cause close to his heart – M.E. Rebecca’s Fight.

“Sam did a lot to raise money for his best friend Rob’s sister who has M.E., so I know he’d be very happy that donations were going there,” Katie said.
