The hidden Japanese garden in London

@jessicaxviana 30/100 ✨ this is the second Japanese garden in our series ! I love this place, and Holland Park, where it is located, is a beautiful garden in itself, as well as the surrounding neighborhood with its beautiful West London white houses. When the pond is clear, you can see koi carp swimming, and if you’re lucky you might even spot peacocks 🦚 or storks ✨ Save this for your next trip to London ♥️ #freethingstodoinlondon #londonfreethingstodo #londonforfree #kyotogarden #kyotogardenlondon #londononabudget #kyotogardens #hollandpark #hollandparklondon #capcut ♬ Chasing Clouds - James Quinn

Kyoto Garden is in Kensington's Holland Park and was opened more than 30 years ago in 1992.

The peaceful spot was a gift from the city of Kyoto to mark the longstanding friendship between Great Britain and Japan and to celebrate the Japan Festival in London at the time.

Designed in the ‘kaiyushiki’ (stroll garden), the hidden garden's focus point is the impressive waterfall and pond.

Kyoto Garden was designed to be filled with foliage including weeping acer trees and dahlias along with the famous cherry blossom tree.

Every year thousands travel to Japan for cherry blossom season when the trees are in full bloom and offer the sight of pink flowers, but now you can see the beautiful trees in London during Spring.

The hidden garden also has stone lanterns that you can admire along with a marble bridge across the pond and spots to sit and relax in.

Kyoto Gardens are open from 7.30am until 30 minutes before dusk every day.

On the online review site TripAdvisor, the gardens have a score of 4.5/5 with one guest sharing: "Holland Park, and the Kyoto Garden within, are truly wonderful, quiet and relaxing.
