Two popular paddling pools in Greenwich will be temporarily closed for cleaning and maintenance during the summer holidays.

The closures are essential to ensure the pools remain in excellent condition for visitors.

Greenwich Council made the announcement via its Facebook page yesterday (August 27).

 

Winns Common Paddling Pool closure

The paddling pool at Winns Common will be closed today (August 28). The pool is set to reopen at 10am on Thursday, August 29.

Located in Plumstead, Winns Common is a large area of flat grassland that includes a playground, ball court, and the paddling pool, which operates only during the school summer holidays.

The pool is open daily from 10am to 6pm until Sunday, September 1 2024.

Entry to the pool is on a first-come, first-served basis.

 

Hornfair Park Paddling Pool closure

Hornfair Park’s paddling pool will be closed on Thursday, August 29, and will reopen at 10am on Friday, August 30.

Hornfair Park, located in Charlton, is a large park offering a variety of facilities, including Charlton Lido and Lifestyle Club, tennis courts, football pitches, a BMX track, and a children’s playground.

The paddling pool, available during the summer holiday period only, is open daily from 10am to 6pm until Sunday, September 1, 2024.

Entry is on a first-come, first-served basis, and pool sessions may be cancelled if additional cleaning and maintenance are needed.

These temporary closures are part of the routine maintenance schedule to keep the pools in top condition for all visitors.
