A suspect has been arrested on suspicion of burglary and stealing a car in Bromley.
On the afternoon of Monday, August 26, police claim the suspect went to an address in Beckenham and stole the occupant’s car keys.
However, it is alleged that the owner had attached an Apple air tag to their keys, which allowed police to track the car one hour later.
Police claim the suspect fled the car but was detained and then arrested.
In a statement on X, Bromley MPS said: “A suspect is in custody for burglary and theft of a motor vehicle.
"On 26 August 2024 in the afternoon, suspect entered an address in Beckenham, Bromley and stole the occupants' car keys.
“However, thanks to an Apple air-tag the owner had attached to their keys, the vehicle was tracked by police and an hour later the vehicle was located.
“The suspect decamped from the vehicle but was swiftly detained and arrested by officers.”
