RESIDENTS who do not register to vote could face a £1,000 fine and a criminal record.
Those who have not filled out the electoral registration form delivered to all households across the borough have until October 15 to do so.
More than a quarter of households have not yet provided details of those eligible to vote who are living at their address.
People can confirm no changes to their details either at registerbyinternet.com/bromley or by freephone on 0800 197 7697.
Bromley Council's head of electoral services Carol Ling said: "You are required by law to register although whether you vote is entirely up to you.
"We would urge anyone who is unsure about how to register to contact electoral services on electoral@bromley.gov.uk or 020 8313 4364 for advice."
