The newest Harry’s restaurant is in the heart of Victoria and has all the classic Italian Harry’s favourites on its menu – as well as being its largest venue to date.
Harry’s Victoria is on the corner of Grosvenor Gardens and has two sun terraces and an open restaurant and raised bar area – for all-day dining from breakfast to dinner.
It’s got the most beautiful interior – similar to that of Harry’s Marylebone and Harry’s Dolce Vita – oozing class, tradition, relaxation and Italy.
I went with my friend for a post-shopping catch up dinner and it was nice to be met by such welcoming staff and given the option to sit in either a booth in a busier area of the restaurant, or a more intimate quiet table in another.
The restaurant was busy for a Monday too, which to me is always a good sign – and having been to Harry’s Marylebone before I knew why.
The menu is wide-ranging with vegetable, fish and meat options – and starters before starters, starters, mains, desserts and more.
The wine list is extensive as with the cocktails which have a Harry’s twist, including the Harry’s Bellini.
My friend went for just that, and I had a raspberry and lychee bellini where the lychee soothed the slightly sour tang to the raspberry flavouring with the prosecco.
We decided to go for cicchetti rather than antipasti for starters and shared the tuna pizzetta and the classic zucchini fritte.
Both were divine, and there’s something about thin zucchini where the batter takes over from the courgette.
The tuna pizza with a crispy base came with tomato and a truffle citrus dressing and we couldn’t get enough of it.
I followed suit with main course and went for the tuna steak – because for me, with tuna steak, when you know a restaurant can do it well, it literally can’t be beaten.
I’ve had the tuna at Harry’s before and I was of course slightly apprehensive that the new Victoria restaurant wouldn’t live up to expectations, but it did, and it even exceeded them.
Seared to perfection, pink in the middle as I had chosen, succulent, generous in portion, not fishy, and bursting with flavour.
My friend went for another Harry’s classic, the ever Instagram, TikTok and photo flash famous Harry’s tagliolini with truffle, Parmesan and cream.
It’s a photographer’s dream as it comes in a small bronze serving dish, with the waiter gracefully putting it onto the plate in a classic movie-style sensation.
We paired our main with Harry’s creamy, soft mash and thick cut chips.
We certainly didn’t need dessert, but did you even go to Harry’s if you didn’t get the toadstool?
It literally is a toadstool, in a garden, but made from white chocolate, raspberries, mascarpone mousse, iced vanilla parfait and pistachio biscotti crunch served with warm pistachio sauce.
If that wasn’t enough, we also ordered the gianduia sundae which was a spectacle if you’ve ever seen one.
Milk and bitter chocolate ice cream, hazelnut brownie, chocolate mousse and salted caramel sauce all in one dish – sparkling, mega and as unbelievably tasty as it sounds and looked.
Our meal was one with flavour, aesthetics, class and quality – and it’s safe to say Harry’s is back – bigger AND better.
