Three people have been arrested, one suspected to have assaulted an emergency worker, after a disturbance involving large groups of people gathering in Peckham.

Police were called to Rye Lane in Peckham yesterday (August 19) at around 8pm and specialist officers from Metropolitan Police’s dog unit also attended the scene.

A section 35 dispersal order was issued, giving police further powers to deal with anti-social behaviour or crime and disorder when they are either occurring, have occurred or are likely to arise without one.

Following the order, police say that most people left the scene, however three people were arrested with one person arrested on suspicion of assaulting an emergency worker and affray and two males arrested on suspicion of failing to comply with the order.
