Lush has opened a brand-new store in Bromley, which now ranks as the third biggest store in London.
Today (August 16) Lush opened a brand-new store in The Glades shopping centre which is located in the former Monsoon unit on the ground floor.
The new store opened at 12pm and was marked by the untying of the iconic Lush Knot Wrap scarf, to the sounds of applause and cheers from customers queuing outside.
The new store has been “long awaited” according to store manager Tara Baker and features a brand-new bath bomb display wall and a fresh skincare stand, as well as more space for parties and charity events.
The space also features a full makeup counter stocking a larger range of Lush cosmetic products, ranging from eye shadows to lipsticks.
The store, which is “three times bigger” than the former Lush Bromley store, also marks the third biggest store to open in London.
Store manager Tara said: “We’re really excited to be opening today.
“Obviously we're open on the same day as Covent Garden, but I think we've just got as much of a draw as they do for the local community, obviously we serve Kent as well.
“We're excited for the shop, it's going to be a hub for parties and experiences and events, and we are so excited to welcome customers back.”
To mark the opening, the first 100 customers will receive a free Toby’s Magic Cow Bath Bomb, which they will get to create in a free “Make and Create” session being held all day today.
Alongside that, the first 100 customers will also receive a free gift bag, featuring a range of full-sized products and samples to celebrate the opening.
One such customer – grandmother Cathy – told News Shopper that she and her granddaughter had been eagerly waiting in the queue since 10am this morning.
Cathy said: “I've brought my granddaughter Ellen along because she loves Lush products, we used to visit the old store and having such a big store in Bromley on our doorstep is wonderful.
“Everything is so sensory which is great for her and it’s just great to be able to come somewhere like this.”
The store also features a range of their current collaborations, including their recent Minions and Minecraft ranges, along with a wall of exclusive products with fan favourites like The Comforter Shower Gel, Flying Fox Shower Gel and Space Girl, to name a few.
Another excited customer was mother of two Natalie, who visited with her children after hearing of the opening.
Natalie said: “My children love Lush and to have this open up here closer to home just before my daughter's birthday, in somewhere where she can come and have a look around with a bit more time on her hands, it's just really exciting and natural and so exciting for the kids.
“It’s also great they've got the different themes which my son also likes, like the Minions and the Minecraft as well.
“So it's got something to try and keep him interested when he's shopping as well.“
The store also features a glimpse of some Christmas products including the Snow Fairy Bubble Wand and Golden Wonder Bath Bomb, both of which are among some of Lush’s most popular festive scents.
Speaking on the opening, supervisor Arthur said: “We’re just really excited to welcome people, this has been so long in the pipeline and we really hope everyone is excited to see it as we are.”
The new Lush store is located at unit 15 on the ground floor of The Glades and will be open on Monday - Saturday between 9am - 7pm and Sunday from 11am - 5pm.
