Drivers in Dartford should prepare for significant travel disruptions as ten road closures are set to take place on the National Highways network, extending into August.

The latest updates from National Highways explain that these closures are part of ongoing maintenance and development efforts on major roads and motorways in the area.

Two of the closures are expected to cause delays ranging from 10 to 30 minutes, potentially affecting commute times and travel plans for many residents and travellers passing through Dartford.

Drivers are advised to plan their journeys accordingly to avoid these peak disruption periods.

National Highways, responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, has confirmed that three of the closures already in place will continue through this week.

It's important to note that these closures do not include smaller roads, as National Highways works on more critical routes.

Here is the full list:

• A282, from 10pm July 1 to 5.30am August 1, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A282 northbound, Dartford Crossing West Tunnel, Tunnel closure for maintenance works, diversion via National Highways network.

• A2, from 12.05am June 17 to 12.05am August 30, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A2 eastbound and westbound, Off network, temporary speed limit reduction from 50mph to 40mph. 24/7 for this period.

• A2, from 8pm July 22 to 6am August 31, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A2 both directions Bean to Tollgate, slip road and diversion for bridge works.

And a further seven closures will begin over the next two weeks:

• A282, from 10pm August 1 to 5.30am August 23, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A282 northbound, West Tunnel closure, carriageway and slip road closure for tunnel works, diversion via National Highways roads.

• A282, from 9.30pm August 3 to 5am August 4, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A282 northbound, Dartford Crossing, Tunnel closure for contraflow works, diversion via Highways England Network.

• A282, from 10pm August 3 to 5am August 4, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A282 northbound and southbound, Dartford Crossing, QEII Bridge closure for maintenance, diversion via East Tunnel (contraflow).

• A282, from 10pm August 4 to 5am August 5, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A282 northbound, Dartford Crossing East Tunnel, Tunnel closure for maintenance works, diversion via National Highways network.

• A282, from 8pm August 10 to 10am August 11, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A282 northbound, Dartford Crossing East Tunnel, Tunnel closure for maintenance works, diversion via National Highways network.

• A2, from 10pm August 10 to 5.30am August 12, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A2 westbound, Darenth Interchange to Old Bexley Lane, Lane, link road, slip road and carriageway closure for resurfacing works, diversion via National Highways and local authority network.

• A282, from 10pm August 11 to 5am August 12, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A282 northbound, Dartford Crossing East Tunnel, Tunnel closure for maintenance works, diversion via National Highways network.
