Bones, potentially human, have been found in the riverbank at Foots Cray Meadows in Sidcup.
Officers were alerted at 2.14pm yesterday (Monday), by a member of the public who reported finding bones along the riverbank area.
The bones have been sent for specialist examination to see if they’re human, and if so, how old they are.
Police say the investigation is ongoing.
A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: “Police were called at 2.14pm on Monday, July 29 to Foots Cray Meadows, Sidcup after a member of the public reported finding bones in a riverbank area.
“The bones have been sent for specialist examination to determine whether they are human and, if so, how old they are.
“Enquiries are ongoing.”
