Some Southeastern trains will be cancelled, diverted or replaced by buses this weekend due to planned engineering work.

The work will affect trains on both Saturday, July 27 and Sunday, July 28.

We have compiled all of the details on these works so that you can plan your journey this weekend.

Buses replace trains between Sittingbourne and Sheerness-on-Sea (Saturday, July 20 - Saturday, July 27)

Major engineering work is taking place to the Kingsferry Bridge near Swale, closing the line between Sittingbourne and Sheerness-on-Sea.

Accessible buses will replace trains between:

  • Sittingbourne and Sheerness-on-Sea calling at Queenborough only
  • Sittingbourne and Kemsley minibus shuttle
  • Swale station will be closed and cannot be served by replacement buses because of the closure of Kingsferry Bridge.

Journey times will be significantly increased, and buses between Sittingbourne and Sheerness -on-Sea will take approximately 60 minutes.

No service between Blackheath and Charlton (Saturday, June 1 - Sunday, August 11)

Engineering work is taking place between Blackheath and Charlton, closing the lines for 10 weeks.

Trains between London Cannon Street and Dartford via Blackheath and Charlton will instead run via Greenwich, calling additionally at Deptford, Greenwich, Maze Hill and Westcombe Park.

Passengers can use the following alternative routes at no extra cost:

  • London Bus routes 89, 54, 380, 202 & SL3.
  • Docklands Light Railway between Greenwich and Lewisham.
  • Thameslink services between London Bridge and Dartford via Woolwich Arsenal.

Buses replace trains between Tonbridge and Maidstone West / Ashford International (Sunday, July 28)

Engineering work is taking place at Paddock Wood, closing all lines.

Paddock Wood Line: Trains between London Charing Cross and Ramsgate / Dover Priory via Tonbridge will run hourly, and be diverted between London Bridge and Ashford International to run via Maidstone East, calling additionally at Otford (for connections to / from Sevenoaks) and Maidstone East.

A portion of coaches will be detached at Ashford International to run between Ashford International and Dover Priory.

Medway Valley Line: Trains between Paddock Wood and Strood will only run between Maidstone West and Strood.

Additional trains will run between London Charing Cross and Tonbridge.

Accessible replacement buses will run between:

  • Tonbridge and Headcorn, calling at all stations.
  • Headcorn and Ashford International, calling at all stations.
  • Tonbridge and Maidstone West, calling at all stations.

Buses will replace trains between Lewisham and Dartford via Hither Green / Sidcup (Sunday, July 28)

Engineering work is taking place between Lewisham and Dartford, closing all lines via Hither Green / Sidcup.

Grove Park Line: Trains between London Charing Cross and Sevenoaks will be retimed and will not stop at Lewisham.

Sidcup Line: Trains which usually run between London Charing Cross and Dartford via Sidcup will not run. Trains which usually run between London Charing Cross and Gravesend via Sidcup will be diverted to run via Bexleyheath calling at all stations.

Accessible replacement buses will run between Lewisham and Dartford via Sidcup calling at all stations.

Buses replace trains between Denmark Hill and Bromley South via Beckenham Junction (Sunday, July 28)

Engineering work is taking place between Brixton and Shortlands, closing all lines.

Bromley South Line: Trains between London Victoria and Orpington will be diverted, calling additionally at Denmark Hill and running non stop between Denmark Hill and Shortlands.

Brixton station will be closed all day.

Accessible replacement buses will run between Denmark Hill and Bromley South calling at all stations via Beckenham Junction except Brixton.
