Two teens have appeared in court charged with the murder of a man in New Cross while police continue to search for a third man in connection with the incident.
Sofian Alliche, 19, of Bury Place in Holborn, and a 17-year-old who cannot be named due to his age, appeared at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on Thursday (July 25).
Both teens are accused of the murder of Antonios Antoniadis on Sunday, July 7.
Police were called to Florence Terrace at around 9.20am with reports that a man had been assaulted and stabbed.
Officers found Antonios, aged in his late 20s, and took him to hospital.
After two weeks of specialist intensive care in hospital Antonios died on Sunday, July 21.
A post-mortem examination showed that the preliminary cause of death was confirmed as multiple organ failure due to a stab wound to his thigh.
Police have issued a picture of a third man, 19-year-old Joshua McCorquodale, who they believe has “vital information” that will help their investigation.
Anyone who has seen him is asked to call 999 and quote Operation Botany.
Detective Chief Inspector Kate Blackburn, leading the investigation said: “We have already charged two people in relation to Antonios' murder.
“We are now issuing an image of a 19-year-old man named Joshua McCorquodale who we believe may have vital information and we would like to speak with him urgently.
“McCorquodale may have injuries and we are concerned for his welfare.
“Please, if you have seen McCorquodale call 999 quoting Operation Botany or if you wish to remain completely anonymous then call Crimestoppers- your identity will be protected.”
Sofian Alliche and the 17-year-old were both remanded in custody after they appeared in court on Thursday (July 25).
They will next appear in court at the Old Bailey on Monday (July 29).
