Thames Water has warned people living in parts of Greenwich, South Norwood and Croydon that they may have no water due to a burst water main.

The company issued a statement apologising for people living in the postcodes of SE19, SE25 and CR7 who may have experienced low pressure or no water.

According to Thames Water, this was the result of a burst water main on Beauchamp Road in Crystal Palace.

Engineers are currently on site working to fix the issue and Thames Water advised customers that repair work would be completed later today - by 10.30am.

A spokesperson for Thames Water said: “We’re sorry if you’re experiencing low pressure or no water.

“Our engineers are in the area and they have located the burst water main on Beauchamp Road.

“We aim to get the water back on within three hours of starting our repairs. If we think it’s going to take longer, we’ll update this message and tell you when we think supplies will return.

“We know how inconvenient it is if you lose your water supply, so we’ll work hard to get things back to normal as soon as we can.

“We expect to provide more information here by 1030hrs.”
