Police have been given additional powers in Thamesmead after reports of fights.
A section 35 dispersal zone will be in place in the Thamesmead East ward from 3.45pm today (Friday, July 19) until 3.44pm tomorrow (Saturday, July 20).
Inspector Keen has authorised the order following reports of “large groups causing ASB in The Nest”.
Police are there to de-escalate and prevent fights or anti-social behaviour.
Bexley MPS tweeted: “Section 35 Dispersal Zone Authorised- Thamesmead East ward Start- 19/07 at 1545 hours to 20/07 at 1544 hours by Insp Keen.
“Reports of large groups causing ASB in and around The Nest.
“Your local officers are there now de-escalating and preventing ASB / Fights.”
