New data has revealed what patients at 28 GP practices in Greenwich thought of their experience.

The GP Patient Survey for NHS England is an independent survey allowing patients to score their GP practice on numerous factors, from ease in making an appointment to the level of care they receive.

In this year's survey, around 2.56 million questionnaires were sent to patients aged 16 and over in England, with data based on 699,790 responses (a national response rate of 27.3 percent).

This year the questionnaire received some updates to reflect how primary care services are delivered across England.

73.9 percent of patients said they had a good overall experience of their GP practice, with 67.3 percent of patients having a good overall experience of contacting their GP practice.

Patients across 28 GP practices in the borough of Greenwich were asked to rate their experiences using their GP surgery.

One question asked patients to describe their “overall” experience using their GP, with patients able to score it as “very good,” “fairly good,” “fairly poor” or “very poor”.

AT Medics in Thamesmead Health Centre along with New Eltham and Blackfen Medical Centre were both rated as the best GP practices in Greenwich, with 51 percent of patients in both rating their experience as “very good.”

By contrast, the GP practice that received the lowest score by patients this year was Conway PMS in Plumstead, where 19 percent of patients rated their experience as “very poor” and a further 10 percent rated their experience as “fairly poor.”
