A man has been arrested after a “frightening” fight alleged to involve a knife at a pub in Gravesend on the night of the Euros final.

The suspect entered the George Public House in Hever Court Road at around 7.18pm on Sunday, July 14.

Police have said that the suspect reportedly approached a man he knew and then “tried to use a knife to attempt to assault the victim”.

However, the victim was not injured.

The suspect then fled the scene and left their knife inside the pub.

It has now been seized by police.

Police believe that the suspect went to and from the pub in a black Audi A3 SE TDI and was seen in the passenger seat of the car after the fight.

The car was then seen leaving the main car park near the Premier Inn.

At around 10pm that evening, a 22-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of affray.

He has since been bailed until Sunday, October 13 while enquiries continue.

Investigating officer PC Izzy Deane said: “We believe the suspect used a black Aldi A3 SE TDI to get to and from the venue and after the incident he was seen in the passenger seat of the car which left the main car park near the Premier Inn.

“The pub was packed with people getting ready to watch the Euros final and this would have been a frightening incident to witness.
