Police have been given additional powers in Lewisham to tackle violence and anti-social behaviour.

A section 35 dispersal order was authorised by A/CI Jackson in the Rushey Green and New Cross Gate areas.

This is to prevent “alarm and distress” and “criminal behaviour” in the area.

Lewisham MPS said: “Section 35 dispersal orders have been authorised by A/CI Jackson in the Rushey Green and New Cross Gate areas.

“This is to tackle violence, anti-social behaviour and to prevent alarm and distress as well as criminal behaviour in these areas.”
