A school in Sidcup has been unable to open to students today due to an overnight incident of vandalism.
Hurstmere School in Sidcup suffered a spate of vandalism which forced the school to close to both staff and pupils.
School authorities have announced that the school will re-open tomorrow, Friday, July 12, and they look forward to welcoming all pupils back at 8.30am.
The school is a secondary academy for boys, located on Hurst Road in Sidcup.
Students were asked to complete their learning online today via Teams whilst the school dealt with the aftermath of the incident.
We have approached the Metropolitan Police for further details on the incident.
A spokesperson for the school said in a statement: “Unfortunately the school was vandalised overnight and will remain closed today (Thursday).
“The school will re-open tomorrow Friday 12 July and we look forward to welcoming all pupils back at 8.30am.”
