A Welling pub has reopened after closing to undergo a massive transformation.
The Nags Head, based on Welling High Street, closed its doors at the end of May 2024 to begin its makeover.
While it has been closed, “major work” has been done both inside and outside to “reaffirm the popular pub as a central community space”.
The spot reopened on July 6 and the inside of the pub has been completely redone to give punters a “modern, welcoming atmosphere”.
It now has new décor and an open plan layout, dividing the pub into different zones for different occasions.
These include a cocktail area, a TV-free restaurant and dining area, a sports bar with lots of TV screens and an outdoor garden and pergola.
There are also areas that customers can book for events and guests can even book a champagne table.
The garden at the Nag’s Head has undergone a “huge expansion”, now having a capacity of over 120 covers, 60 of those being heated and covered.
Customers can find a range of seats under the “charming pergola” which can double up as a “cosy, mini function room”.
There are even outdoor TVs where people can watch sport as they enjoy their drinks.
Sky and TNT Sport will be aired at the Nag’s Head, showing all major matches throughout the year, so sports fans need never miss a second of the action.
The venue is also registered on the Greene King Sport App for countless deals.
The pub’s food menu has been revamped with the decor, with many deals including irresistible small plates perfect for sharing priced at 3 for £15, 5 for £22.50.
Plus, there is a dedicated kids’ menu, seniors’ menu, and the Lunch Club menu, ensuring there's plenty of variety for everyone to enjoy.
A Sunday menu is also available serving Sunday roasts for all the family.
Artur Janiak, General Manager of the Nags Head, said: “Our brilliant team at the Nags Head, is excited to showcase our new and improved pub to the local community.
“We’re looking forward to welcoming both new and old customers.
“The renovation has given the pub a new lease of life, and we’re confident that customers will love our improved facilities, whether they’re looking for a drink with friends, a meal with the family, booking a party, or enjoying a sporting event, there really is something for everyone.”
Alongside seasonal events, the Nags Head hosts a regular programme of activities, including regular poker, quiz, and bingo nights.
