Vicky Foxcroft, representing the Labour Party, has gained a majority in Lewisham North and will now represent the constituency as its MP..

The total turnout for this election in Lewisham North was 44,167 votes, and Ms Foxcroft received 25,467 of those votes after polling on July 4.

Ms Foxcroft said: “I hope we can deliver for our young people, they need not to be terrified of knife crime and people should have faith in our NHS.

"They need to know the NHS will be there for them when they need it and they need hope for our transport system.”

In 2023, there was a boundary review by the UK government which means that this is the first election in which Lewisham North has been its own constituency.

Prior to the constituency changes, Foxcroft was voted to be the MP in Lewisham Deptford.

In the 2019 General Election, she won 70.8 per cent of the constituency’s votes.

Voters across Lewisham as a borough have historically favoured the Labour Party, with Labour taking seats across all Lewisham constituencies in the 2019 General Election – Deptford, Lewisham West and Penge, Dulwich and West Norwood.

An MP from the Labour Party has been elected in Lewisham East since 1992.
