A busy road in central London has been closed due to a “police incident”.
Kensington High Street near Allen Street has been shut to traffic since around 12.30pm today (June 25).
A user on X (formally known as Twitter) has claimed that there is a “high level” of ambulances at the scene.
It added: “There are a high number of ambulances (I counted 12 at the time) and a few fire engines on Kensington High Street.
“I hope people are okay.”
Bus routes 9, 27, 28, 49, and 328 are on diversion as the incident is being dealt with, according to AA.
The nature of the incident is currently unknown.
We have contacted Metropolitan Police, London Ambulance Service and London Fire Brigade for further information.
The full statement from AA maps: “Road closed and slow traffic due to police incident on A315 Kensington High Street Westbound from Allen Street to Abingdon Road.
“Detour in operation - bus routes 9, 27, 28, 49, 328.”
