A man has died in a house fire in Welling.
Police, ambulance crews and the fire brigade were called to Kent Avenue yesterday (Monday, June 24) at 6.15pm.
A man was rescued from the building but died at the scene of the blaze.
Police are investigating the cause of the fire.
Road closures in the area remain in place.
A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: “Police were called at about 18:15hrs on Monday, 24 June to reports of a fire at a house on Kent Avenue in Welling.
“Officers, the London Ambulance Service and London Fire Brigade attended.
“A man was rescued from the building.
“Despite the efforts of emergency services, sadly he died at the scene.
“An investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing.
“Road closures are in place.”
