A man has pleaded guilty to murdering his partner who was found stabbed to death in their Bexley home.

Leila Young, 33, was found with stab injuries to her head and neck at her home on Penhill Road just after 4pm on January 16.

She was rushed to hospital but died from her injuries a week later on January 23.

Her partner, 33-year-old Tony Curant, was arrested on January 20.

On Friday (June 21) Curant appeared at Woolwich Crown Court and pleaded guilty to Leila’s murder, the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) said.

Curant now faces a mandatory life sentence.

He will find out the minimum term of the life sentence at a sentencing hearing which is scheduled to take place in August.
