A bin lorry driver has admitted causing the death of a pensioner in West Wickham.
John Boddy, 48, of Millfields in Chatham, pleaded guilty to causing death by careless or inconsiderate driving at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on Monday (June 17).
The crash took place on the morning of September 20, 2022, near the junction of The Grove and West Wickham High Street.
Police were called to reports of a crash between a lorry and a pedestrian at around 7.20am.
The pedestrian, a man in his 70s, died at the scene of the crash.
The lorry was not a Council vehicle or a contractor's vehicle, Bromley Council said.
Boddy will be sentenced at a later date.
