RESIDENTS hoping to raise money for a new play area on an estate, in Lewisham, held a fun day with clowns, magicians and balloons.
The event at the Foxborough Gardens estate, off Chudleigh Road, Lewisham, raised about £500 by charging for activities, including face painting, a raffle, and games.
Foxborough Gardens Tenants Association organised the day, on August 30, and hopes to use the money for a new play area on the estate.
Association chairman Cat Holland said: "We have lots of green areas on the estate but nothing for the children to do. We want something to keep the children both occupied and safe.
"Quite a few people came to the day and everyone enjoyed themselves."
