A man has been detained after an assault in Deptford.

Police were called to Foreshore on Tuesday, June 4 at around 7am.

At the scene, they found a woman in her 30s who suffered head injuries.

Two days later, on June 6, an investigation was launched, and a man was arrested in relation to the assault.

He was then detained under the Mental Health Act.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: Police were called at around 07:00hrs on Tuesday, 4 June to a report of an assault on Foreshore, SE8.

“Officers attended and spoke to a woman, aged in her 30s, who had suffered head injuries.

“An investigation was launched and on Thursday, 6 June, a man was arrested in connection with the incident.

“He was subsequently detained under the Mental Health Act.”
