The world's most beautiful cafes have been named and two of them are in the heart of London.

The list features cafes in all corners of the world, from Vienna, Amsterdam, Lisbon, Buenos Aires, Istanbul, Swansea, and many more.

Created by The Telegraph, the list was made to shine a light on the importance of cafes, describing the quaint spots as "the window on the world", allowing you to "see ordinary people – locals as well as visitors – coming and going, taking time out."

Among the esteemed list, two London cafes were lucky enough to be named, with Bar Italia and Algerian Coffee Stores gaining special mentions.

Bar Italia on Frith Street took the third spot on the list, with its key praise aimed at its impressive espresso.

Described as a "narrow counter-style" that reminds goers of "the West End coffee boom of the Fifties", Bar Italia has a traditional Italian theme.

First opening in 1949, the cafe uses a "beautiful old Gaggia machine, with red and white Formica bar" to help create the perfect coffee.

The space features a mix of football memorabilia and Italian Tricolore that is said to make the perfect "shrine to a bohemian Soho that has elsewhere been gentrified into oblivion".

On the online review site TripAdvisor, Bar Italia has a rating of 4/5 as one guest shares: "There is just something about the simplicity and authenticity of this that I love. It's almost a slight step back in time which fills me with nostalgia.

"The bar serves amazing coffee and treats for those on the move or have little time."

The second London cafe named on the list is Algerian Coffee Stores on Old Compton Street.
