A woman has been taken to hospital after being rescued from the River Thames in Greenwich.

Concerns for the safety of a woman were raised in Olympian Way just before 7.30pm yesterday (June 9).

The woman was rescued and taken to hospital for treatment where she remains.

Her next of kind have been made aware.

A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police said: “Police were called to Olympian Way, SE10 at about 19:26hrs on Sunday, 9 June following concerns for the safety of a woman who entered the water.

“Police were later notified that the woman has been rescued and taken to hospital, where she remains for treatment.

“Her next of kin have been made aware.”
