A popular Wetherspoons pub in Bexleyheath which was put up on the market two years ago is no longer for sale.

The Wrong Un in Broadway Bexleyheath was among four other south London pubs that were put on the market in September 2022.

These were Bankers Draft in Eltham, the Asparagus in Battersea, the Capitol in Forest Hill, and the Foxley Hutch in Purley.

An offer had been made for the Bexleyheath pub in June 2023 and it was expected to close once a deal was agreed.

A spokesperson for the chain confirmed it has decided to take the pub off the market and it will continue to operate as a Wetherspoons.

Pub lovers were originally devastated by the potential closure with many describing the pub as the “best in south London”.

Many fans of the Wrong Un pub dubbed it as a “friendly” place “packed with great memories”.

The Bankers Draft, in Eltham High Street, closed its doors on August 20, almost a year after it was put up for sale.

The Capitol, in London Road, also shut its doors for good on October 15 and the Foxley Hatch permanently closed on December 3.

The Asparagus was the latest south London Wetherspoons to close its doors for good on March 17.

The chain, founded by businessman Tim Martin, operates around 800 pubs around the UK and Ireland.
