Some Southeastern trains will be cancelled, diverted or replaced by buses this weekend due to planned engineering work.
The work will impact trains on Saturday, June 8 and Sunday, June 9.
We have compiled a list of the works being carried out and the trains affected so that you can plan ahead this week.
Amended late night / early morning trains in the Tunbridge Wells area (Saturday, June 8 and Sunday, June 9)
Engineering work is taking place at various locations in the Tunbridge Wells area, closing some lines on Saturday night and Sunday morning.
Sunday:
The 12.15am London Charing Cross to Tonbridge Wells will terminate at Tonbridge.
A bus will run from Tonbridge to High Brooms / Tonbridge Wells (please note: this train runs at the end of Saturday service).
The 6.33am Strood to Tonbridge terminates at Paddock Wood.
A bus will run from Paddock Wood to Tonbridge.
The 6.33am Tonbridge to Strood starts forward at Paddock Wood.
A bus will run from Tonbridge to Paddock Wood.
The 6.35am Ashford International to London Charing Cross will start from Tonbridge, you should travel on the 6.02am departure from Ashford International to Paddock Wood.
A replacement bus will run from Paddock Wood to Tonbridge to connect into the London Charing Cross train.
The 6.50am Hastings to London Charing Cross will start from Tonbridge. Additional train Hastings (departing 5.44am) to Battle.
A bus will run from Tunbridge Wells to Tonbridge.
The 7.31am Hastings to London Charing Cross will start from Tonbridge. Replacement buses will run from Tunbridge Wells / Battle to Tonbridge.
The 7.33am Tonbridge to Strood will start from Paddock Wood. A bus will run from Tonbridge to Paddock Wood.
The 8.02am Tonbridge to Minster will start from Paddock Wood.
A bus will run from Tonbridge to Paddock Wood.
Buses replace trains between between New Beckenham / Lewisham and Hayes (Saturday, June 8 and Sunday, June 9)
Engineering work is taking place between New Beckenham and Hayes all weekend and also between Lewisham and New Beckenham on Sunday, closing some lines.
Saturday:
Trains between London Charing Cross and Hayes will be diverted after New Beckenham to run to and from from Beckenham Junction.
These will run every 30 minutes.
Sunday:
Trains between London Charing Cross and Hayes will not run.
Accessible replacement buses will run between:
Saturday:
Beckenham Junction and Hayes, calling at all stations
Sunday:
Lewisham and Hayes, calling at all stations
Buses replace trains between Gravesend and Rochester (Saturday, June 8 and Sunday, June 9)
Engineering work is taking place between Gravesend and Higham, closing all lines.
Highspeed trains via Gravesend: Trains between London St Pancras International and Ramsgate via Gravesend will only run between London St Pancras International and Gravesend.
Accessible replacement buses will run between:
- Gravesend and Gillingham calling at Strood, Rochester & Chatham
- Gravesend and Strood calling at Higham (minibus)
Thameslink:
All day Saturday and Sunday, no Thameslink services will run between Gravesend and Strood. (Thameslink services will operate between Strood and Rainham (Kent).
Rail replacement buses are in operation between Gravesend and Strood, operated by Southeastern, for customers to use.
Sunday only:
Additionally, no Thameslink services will run between London and Plumstead.
You may use your ticket on Southeastern services between London Cannon Street and Plumstead at no extra cost.
Buses replace trains between Sittingbourne and Sheerness-on-Sea (Saturday, June 8 and Sunday, June 9)
Major engineering work is taking place to the Kingsferry Bridge near Swale, closing the line between Sittingbourne and Sheerness-on-Sea
Accessible buses will replace trains between:
- Sheerness-on-Sea and Sittingbourne calling at Queenborough only
- Kemsley and Sittingbourne minibus shuttle
- Swale station will be closed and cannot be served by replacement buses because of the closure of Kingsferry Bridge.
Journey times will be significantly increased, and buses between Sittingbourne and Sheerness-on-Sea will take approximately one hour.
No service between Charlton and Blackheath (Saturday, June 1 and Sunday, August 11)
Engineering work is taking place between Charlton and Blackheath, closing the lines for 10 weeks.
Trains between London Cannon Street and Dartford via Blackheath and Charlton will instead run via Greenwich, calling additionally at Westcombe Park, Maze Hill, Greenwich, and Deptford.

Passengers can use the following alternative routes at no extra cost:
- London Bus routes 89, 54, 380, 202 & SL3.
- Docklands Light Railway between Greenwich and Lewisham.
- Thameslink services between London Bridge and Dartford via Woolwich.
