A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after an incident at a home in Woolwich.

A woman in her 50s was found injured at a block of flats in Nightingale Vale at 7.15am on June 3.

Officers and ambulance crews were called to the scene and a man was taken to a south London police station and was bailed to return on a date in mid-July.

Police enquiries are now ongoing to establish the cause of her injuries.

An air ambulance, ambulance crew, an advanced paramedic, and an incident response officer attended.

The woman was taken to hospital for treatment where she remains in a critical condition.

The investigation continues.

A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police said: “Police were called by London Ambulance Service [LAS] at 07:27hrs on Monday, 3 June to reports of an injured woman at a residential address on Nightingale Vale, SE18.

“A woman, aged 50s, was found injured inside the address.

“She was taken to hospital by LAS where she remains in a critical condition.

“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the cause of the injuries.

“A man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of attempted murder.

“He was taken to a south London police station and following interview was bailed to return on a date in mid-July.

“The investigation continues.”

A spokesperson for London Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 7.15am on Monday 3 June to reports of an incident on Nightingale Vale, SE18.

“We sent resources to the scene, including an ambulance crew, an advanced paramedic and an incident response officer.

“We also dispatched a trauma team from London’s air ambulance which consisted of a doctor and a paramedic in a car.

“We treated a patient at the scene before taking them to a major trauma centre as a priority.”
