Police have flocked to a major road in Sidcup after a male was reportedly seen with a gun.
The incident was reported by a member of the public in Main Road just before 8pm yesterday (June 5).
Officers attended and the male was tasered and put in handcuffs before being detained.
The male was searched and no firearm was found.
He was later arrested on suspicion of points and blades and taken into police custody where he remains.
A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police said: “Police were called at 19:57hrs on Wednesday, 5 June to Main Road, Sidcup, after a member of the public reported seeing a male with a firearm.
“Officers responded and a male was detained. He was tasered and placed in handcuffs.
“The male was searched and no firearm found.
“He was arrested on suspicion of points and blades and taken into custody.”
