Orpington High Street is set to be closed for two weeks for drainage repair work.

The works by LF Solutions Ltd will involve the installation of new drainage at the new development from 208 - 212 High Street which began on June 3.

The closure will be in place from June 3 until June 14, including the stretch between the junctions of Homefield Rise and Broomhill Road.

Traffic will be rerouted via Spur Road and Court Road in both directions.

Concerns from local businesses have been taken into account as Orpington 1st Business Improvement District (BID) requested signage to inform the public that businesses in the affected area will continue operations as normal.

Bromley Council has announced a reshuffling of their previous High Street repairs schedule which now includes a new phase of maintenance during the upcoming closure.

The once anticipated phase three of the repair scheme initially in set to be in place this week has been postponed for a subsequent date.

In coordination with the drainage works, phase four of the repair agenda will also be carried out.

This includes the blockwork crossing/speed table located north of the Homefield Rise/High Street roundabout, specifically outside the former Barclays Bank unit.

High Street access to Homefield Rise will be closed and the installation of a two-way traffic lights system on the roundabout will be necessary to moderate traffic through the High Street.

The exact dates for the implementation of phase three are yet to be announced.
