A prolific shoplifter who previously targeted shops in Chislehurst, Sidcup and Bexleyheath has struck again.
On October 4 last year Christopher Fawcett stole £265 worth of chocolate from M&S at the BP petrol station on Bexley Road in Eltham.
Then on February 11 this year he stole £335 of chocolate and prosecco from the same shop.
This wasn’t the 41-year-old's first shoplifting spree.
In 2019 he was jailed for seven weeks for thefts from a BP petrol station in Chislehurst and The Co-Op at The Oval in Sidcup.
Then in January this year Fawcett stole a mixture of fish and meat worth £90 from The Co-Op on Pickford Lane in Bexleyheath.
He was given a conditional discharge and ordered to pay £90 compensation for that offence.
On Tuesday (June 4) Fawcett, of Erith Road in Bexleyheath, appeared at Bexley Magistrates’ Court in relation to the thefts from Eltham M&S.
After pleading guilty to the offences he walked free from court with a community order.
He was ordered to pay £300 compensation and was banned from M&S on Crown Woods Way for one year.
